Travellers move next to Wimborne Football Club
A set of caravans have parked on the council-owned field by a local skate park and have been there since Friday 20 June.

Around seven caravans are currently parked on a field next to a popular skate park in Wimborne, next to the football club.
According to reports, the caravans initially parked in Wimborne Football Club’s car park on Friday 20 June, before a member of staff asked them to move on. They then relocated to the council-owned field, off of Ainsley Road.
The Wimborne FC employee said at the weekend: “We have contacted the police and I’m told they have been down here and asked them to move along. They are not on our land, but being so close to the club is a bit of a concern.”
Several residents at the nearby Quarter Jack Park estate messaged Dorset Council regarding the travellers.
Cllr Jindy Atwal, who represents Colehill and Wimborne Minster East ward, said in a message to residents: “Please be assured that the council is actively managing the situation.
“They will be offered the opportunity to move to a designated transit site, which, if accepted, should lead to a swift resolution.
“Should they choose not to relocate voluntarily, the council will proceed with issuing a Section 62 notice for illegal encampment.”
According to the councillor, Dorset Council’s traveller liaison officer was due to visit the site on Monday to engage the group.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the travellers remain camped next to Riverside skate park.
