Wimborne drop-in for a cuppa
Cup of Calm, which has been launched at the Museum of East Dorset’s garden tea room, runs every Monday at 2pm.
What could be nicer than meeting others over a warm drink for some friendly conversation?
That is what the Museum of East Dorset is offering every Monday at 2pm.
Cup of Calm will provide a gentle, welcoming space for anyone who might benefit from a moment of connection — whether they’re new parents, people who have recently moved to the area, or those who may be feeling lonely, isolated or bereaved. The aim is to create a relaxed environment where people of all ages can pause, chat and feel part of a supportive community.
Set within the museum’s Garden Tea Room, Cup of Calm invites visitors to slow down, enjoy a cuppa and meet others in a warm, judgement-free setting.
Lorraine Lewis, manager, said: “Cup of Calm is all about offering people a gentle place to land, even if just for half an hour. We know how powerful a simple conversation over a cuppa can be — especially for those feeling a bit adrift, overwhelmed or alone. Our Garden Tea Room is the perfect setting for people to feel welcomed, seen and supported.”
