Bournemouth art students to hold free art exhibition in Poole
The free exhibition, called “Echoes of the Deep”, will be open to the public from 14 March to 27 April at The Lighthouse Centre.
A water-themed exhibition showcasing work by Arts University Bournemouth students will be open to the public from 14 March to 27 April at The Lighthouse Arts Centre in Poole.
Entitled “Echoes of the Deep”, the free student-led exhibition will explore the theme of water through a diverse range of multimedia artworks, including photography, painting, sculpture and installation created by students studying for a BA in Fine Art.
Amy Steel, exhibition leader, said: “Each year, second year students at Arts University Bournemouth collaborate to bring an exhibition to The Lighthouse Arts Centre. The theme for this show is water, and students were asked to think in expansive and imaginative ways about how water may be significant to them and the world around them.
“The students have responded in fantastically broad ways, exploring the many connections we have to water, it being our lifeblood, our nourishment, a place of conflict and complex dialogue in our discourse and in our economy.”
The students will be graded on these works, as well as on a presentation they will give detailing their individual creative practices.
There will be private viewing on Wednesday 12 March from 6pm-8pm, and then the exhibition will open to the public from 14 March to 27 April.
