Dorset author to attend Ferndown fete in support of JTYAF
A guest appearance by local author Janine Pulford will take place at the JTYAF stand at Fete on the Field in Ferndown on 20 June.
Dorset author Janine Pulford will be signing copies of her latest release ‘Paws in the Flood’ at Ferndown Fete on the Field on 20 June in support of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF).
A former publisher of local magazines, Janine said: “Part of the proceeds of book sales on the day will be donated to the charity, which I have supported for many years.”
Her husband Nick has also donated a range of home-grown plants to JTYAF that will be sold at the fete to boost the charity’s funds.
Grown locally, the plants will include tomatoes, chillies and cucumbers. Nick said: “I usually grow a surplus of plants so if John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation can benefit from them it will be a bonus, because the funds will go towards helping young people pursue their dreams.”
JTYAF’s Linda Thornton said: “Janine and Nick have been wonderful friends of the foundation for many years, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support. It is always a pleasure to work together for the benefit of young people in our community.”
Pop along to the JTYAF stall at Fete on the Field, Ferndown on 20 June, 11am–5pm, and say hello. Back by popular demand is ‘Hook a Duck’ with a guaranteed prize every time for children.
JTYAF was founded by Linda and Peter Thornton in 2008 in memory of their son, Lt John Thornton RM, who was killed in Afghanistan in the same year at the age of 22. The foundation benefits local, young people who can apply for scholarships and bursaries to pursue their dreams.
