Dorset businesses invited to help shape economic future
Dorset Council is organising business events in Wimborne, Wool, Bridport, Shaftesbury and Portland during March.

The Allendale Centre in Wimborne is one of five venues where Dorset Council is organising a local business event.
Council leader, Cllr Nick Ireland, said: “A strong economy underpins everything we want to achieve. It will increase wealth, create more opportunities for people, improve living standards, and boost funds for public services.
“These events will be used to gauge the views of businesses on the challenges they face plus the opportunities for growth.
“We want to ensure we capture the key issues in our strategy, and more importantly identify what we can do to make a step change in the county’s economic performance.”
The council recognises that a change is needed to break the cycle of slow economic growth.
The business engagement events are being held at:
- Wool – BattleLab, Dorset Innovation Park, Friday 14 March 8am– 9:30am
- Bridport – Mountfield, Monday 17 March 8:30am-10am
- Wimborne – Allendale Centre, Wednesday 19 March, 8am-9:30am
- Shaftesbury – Royal Chase Hotel, Friday 21 March, 8am-9:30am
- Portland – Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, Tuesday 25 March, 8am-9:30am.
Businesses can book their spot by going to www.eventbrite.co.uk and searching for Dorset Council.
