Musicians and singers sought for Wimborne production
Wimborne Community Theatre will be producing ‘HOME’ at Kingston Lacy from 22–27 September and cast members are needed.
If you are a singer or musician, Wimborne Community Theatre (WCT) would like to hear from you.
WCT is staging a site-specific production on the theme of home, titled ‘HOME’, which is one of four Landmark events produced by Wimborne Town of Culture, with funding from Arts Council England.
The production will bring together a cast of local people of all ages to perform a new piece of theatre inspired by people’s experiences of what home means to them, as well to the lives of historical characters who once lived in and near Wimborne.
Performances will take place in the grounds of Kingston Lacy from 22–27 September at 7pm.
Musical director, Karen Wimhurst, is keen to find individual singers/musicians or members of local choirs or bands who would like to get involved.
Wimhurst said: “This is going to be a really exciting theatrical celebration with many local people coming together to create this spectacle in this beautiful setting.”
There will be a rehearsal in late July to present the material and give everyone learning materials including recorded parts and music/words depending on what people like.
Then there will be sessions to slot this into the action, with rehearsals during the summer. It may be possible to perform in two different groups doing alternate nights.
If you would like to get involved, please contact julia@whitesheepprojects.co.uk to register your interest.
