A teddy bear’s day out at Wimborne Model Town on 3 October was a huge success attracting teddies of all shapes and sizes along with their owners.

The Allendale Centre in Wimborne is to host Wimborne Rotary Club’s craft fair on Saturday 23 October from 10am-4pm.

Wimborne Model Town is hosting events for Wimborne Bear Day including storytelling and a Bear Hunt quiz.

The Bishop of Sherborne and the vicar of St Michael’s Church, plus former headteachers took part in the two days of celebration.

A concert with a musical celebration of 40 upbeat songs will be staged at venues in Verwood and Wimborne.

Back at the Allendale – Swing Unlimited Big Band’s jazz concert raised more than £1,270 for local charities.

Wimborne Rotary held a weekend street collection in Wimborne in conjunction with Shelterbox to raise funds for Shelter Kits.

There is free admission for children at Wimborne Model Town for the first ever Wimborne Bear Day on 3 October.

Visitors were able to enjoy a day out at the attraction, with trailer rides, vintage vehicles and music from Retro Rita.

Over £3,000 was raised at the weekend for the Minster Makes Music Appeal, Minster Funds and for the participating charities.
