The week-long Planet Wimborne Green Festival begins on Saturday 11 October.

A total of eight recycling centres in Dorset will close for two days for essential maintenance during October.

The Museum of East Dorset is staging ‘How to Train your Dragon’ from Saturday 11 October to Saturday 1 November.

David Robert Giddins has been jailed for more than four years for arson in the Broadstone, Wimborne and Merley areas.

The festival, which runs until Monday 29 September, has displays featuring various Dorset landmarks and people who feature in the county’s history.

The event, which took place at the Yeovil Games on Saturday 20 September, saw Wimborne Athletic Club taking first and second place.

Live demonstration, food stalls, competitions and local artisan traders attended the festival on Saturday 20 September.

The procession was ahead of the Wimborne Minster Flower Festival entitled ‘The Delights of Dorset’, which runs from 26 to 29 September.

Wimborne Drama Productions will be performing this chilling play at the Tivoli Theatre from 16 to 18 October.
