Pop princess musical SIX is coming to Poole in 2027
A smash hit musical about Henry VIII’s six wives is coming to Lighthouse Poole next year.
Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced, beheaded, survived. The well-known rhyme about the fates of Henry VIII’s six wives is reimagined into a smash hit musical full of pulse-pounding pop and moving ballads in ‘SIX’, and the show is coming to Lighthouse Poole in 2027.
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, ‘SIX’ is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of England’s Tudor king in the form of a pop concert, in which each spouse takes a turn to tell their tale to see who suffered the most at the hands of their husband. Throughout, the wives are backed by their all-female showband, The Ladies in Waiting, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st-century girl power.
The international success was seen by more than 10,500 people across 16 performances on its last run in 2023, making it the most successful touring show in Lighthouse history. The return of this theatre phenomenon is sure to generate excitement when it goes on general sale on Friday 24 April.
‘SIX’ is the winner of 26 major international awards, including the 2022 Tony Award for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design on Broadway, and a double WhatsOnStage Award winner for Best West End Show in 2022 and 2023.
It is scheduled to be performed at Lighthouse Poole from Tuesday 16 March to Saturday 27 March 2027. There is an age guidance of 10+.
Priority booking opens for Lighthouse Best & Great Friends only at 10am on Friday 17 April, to Lighthouse Good Friends at 10am on Tuesday 21 April, and goes on general sale from 10am on Friday 24 April at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk.
