Serious collision on Bournemouth spur road

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision on the A338 Spur Road on Saturday 25 July.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.41am of a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian on the southbound carriageway between the Kings Park off-slip and Springbourne off-slip.

The pedestrian – a 27-year-old man from Bournemouth – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as potentially life-threatening, and his family has been informed. The driver of the Ford Fiesta was uninjured.

Police Sergeant Josh Alner, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish what happened, and I am keen to hear from any witnesses.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the relevant time and captured anything on dashcam footage that may assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and cooperation during the road closure, which enabled officers to carry out a thorough examination of the scene.”
