Dorset mental health charity receives £5k for Time to Talk Day
Dorset Tea made the donation to Dorset mind to mark Time to Talk Day, which encourages people to open up about their mental health.

Two Dorset-based organisations have teamed up to mark ‘Time to Talk Day’ which takes place today on Thursday 6 February.
Local mental health charity Dorset Mind received a £5,000 donation from Dorset Tea. The partnership aims to create a community where living with and talking about mental health becomes acceptable for everyone.
Dorset Mind is a self-funded charity that provides essential mental health services in local communities. Dorset Tea’s donation will help fund these services, and the company will provide tea and support for key fundraising events and initiatives.
Dorset Mind’s Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser Nick Rowe said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Dorset Tea for 2025. A cup of tea brings comfort, warmth, and emotional grounding, often in challenging situations.
“We are very grateful for both the vital funds and of course the tea supporting our services, events, volunteers and individuals throughout 2025.”
Lauren Forecast, brand manager for Dorset Tea, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Dorset Mind, a local charity making a real difference in our community. Their tireless efforts to provide mental health support and open conversations are vital, and we’re proud to help – with both funding and, of course, tea!”
The donation coincides with national Time to Talk Day. Dorset Mind is urging locals to open up about their mental health. Rowe said: “Text a friend, chat to a colleague over a cuppa, go for a walk with a loved one, or share something on social media – there’s no right or wrong way to check in with someone on Time to Talk Day.”
