Ringwood has appointed a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Mayor Cllr Mary DeBoos said: “As my hometown, Ringwood has a very special place in my heart and I’m delighted to be Town Mayor this year as we celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the Market Charter. I look forward to serving our residents, supporting local businesses and organisations, and working alongside councillors and volunteers to continue making our town a wonderful place.”

Deputy Mayor Cllr Swyer said: “It’s an honour to be asked to represent this wonderful community alongside our new Town Mayor and I’ll do all I can to ensure all those in the town are heard and supported.”

Ringwood Town Council said it would like to extend its sincere thanks to Cllr Rae Frederick for her two years as Mayor and for the energy and commitment she brought to the role.

Residents are encouraged to take part in the town’s events and celebrations throughout the coming year.
