Fireworks to light up the sky in Bournemouth and Poole
The firework evenings take place in Bournemouth on Fridays from 24 July to 28 August and in Poole on Thursdays from 6 to 27 August.
The skies over Bournemouth and Poole are to once again be lit up with the start of the summer fireworks series along the seafront.
At Bournemouth Seafront (east of Bournemouth Pier), there will be fireworks at 10pm on Fridays 24 July until 28 August.
On Poole Quay, the event starts at 7pm with music and street entertainment from 7.30pm and fireworks at 10pm on Thursdays 6 to 27 August.
Cllr Richard Herrett, portfolio holder for Destination, Leisure & Commercial Operations at Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole (BCP) Council, said: “Fireworks are a real highlight of the summer calendar, and we’re delighted to see them return again through the summer. They bring our communities together and create lasting memories for both residents and visitors alike.
“With this summer’s programme in place, these events will bring a boost to the local economy, supporting our valued businesses.
“I encourage everyone to come along, make the most of the vibrant atmosphere, and take time to explore and support our excellent hospitality venues before enjoying a fantastic display.
“I’d like to thank Bournemouth Coastal BID for their contribution in funding the programme.”
Fiona McArthur, head of Bournemouth Coastal BID, said: “Bournemouth Coastal BID is delighted to support the return of Bournemouth’s summer fireworks programme on behalf of our hoteliers and seafront levy-paying businesses.
“Feedback from local hoteliers and hospitality venues consistently highlight the fireworks as one of the attractions that visitors value most during the summer. By helping to fund the fireworks we are helping to enhance the visitor experience, encourage longer stays and generate additional spending for businesses.
“The events play an important role in maintaining Bournemouth’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading coastal destinations and we are pleased to be working alongside BCP Council to deliver another successful summer programme.”
Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, use public transport where possible, park responsibly and respect the coastline to help keep the area safe and enjoyable for everyone.
