Detectives investigating a fraud and theft offence involving an elderly woman in Bournemouth have issued CCTV images of the suspect and are appealing for anyone who can identify him to get in touch.

Within 48 hours of being installed by Ferndown Town Council, a Silent Soldier was deliberately bent off its legs and maliciously destroyed beyond repair in broad daylight. The installation is one of 10, which have been put in significant places around the town in support of the Royal British Legion campaign. The figures have had to be concreted into the ground in a bid to stop people stealing or vandalising them. Sadly, in this instance, the vandal(s) determination caused irreparable damage. The vandalised figure was on the junction of Dudsbury Avenue and New Road in West Parley. If you witnessed anything, please contact Dorset Police on 101.
