Ryan James Duncan was sentenced following a burglary of several items from a flat in Bourne Avenue on Friday 3 January.
There were a number of people in the area at the time, so Dorset Police are hoping witnesses will come forward.

Anyone who was in Stapehill Road at around 8.15am on Wednesday 14 May and witnessed this collision should contact the police.
The Sceptre campaign, which runs until Sunday 25 May, will see events including education presentations in 16 schools.
The theft happened in Southbourne sometime between 11 and 12 May and police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity.
